I’ve always had a strong connection with Colombia. My mother is Colombian and as a child, we would travel from the USA to Colombia every year. Throughout the 1980s and 90s I visited many places which have now become some of Colombia’s most iconic destinations: Guatapé, the Coffee Region, Medellin, and others. Never did I imagine that one day I would be living in and working in Colombia.
This all changed in 2009. I had travelled to visit family and started to see the first foreigners in Medellin. I came back to the USA that summer and met my future wife. We both wanted to move from Portland, Oregon, where we were at the time and decided that we would take the 3 months she had set aside from work to discover Colombia.
After our 3 months in Colombia, we discovered an amazing country; exactly what we were looking for. Fantastic food, incredible scenery and still, at that time, quite undiscovered on the tourism scene. We also noticed that the country was “made” for Ecotourism and there were no companies offering travel experiences for English speaking globetrotters.
So here we are, 10 years later, continuing to offer unforgettable travel experiences in the land of magical realism, the land of a thousand rhythms, our home and yours, Colombia.
