Activities may change slightly depending on the water levels. High water levels can be expected in February, March, Abril and the highest levels can be expected all through May and beginning of June. During high water season more activities are done by boat or canoe. The water levels drop from mid-June where more hiking is included.

Day 1 - Maguta Camp

We will pick you up at the airport and bring you to the port, where we will take a boat for about 2.5 hours to the Maguta Lodge. In high water season we take a wooden boat to the lodge, in dry season we will have to walk for 20 minutes to get there.
Upon reaching the lodge, you will learn about the regional ecosystem, followed by a typical lunch. After lunch, we will head out for a hike through the rainforest, where will learn all about various plants and trees and their importance to the local indigenous population as well as hear stories about the legends and traditions of the local tribes.
When the water level is too high we set out by canoe instead of by foot. In the late afternoon we will choose the perfect spot to set camp (only in low water season). Dinner will be cooked over the campfire, after which we will go for a night walk and fall asleep in hammocks to the sounds of the jungle.

Accommodation is in the rainforest in hammocks or in the cabaña (depends on the level of water)

Day 2 - San Juan de Baranco

We wake up early to enjoy the sunrise over the lake or river and then head back to the lodge for breakfast. After breakfast we will start a 2.5 hours walk to get to San Juan de Baranco, a Tikuna community.
When the water levels are very high we will take a canoe to the community. We have lunch in the community and learn about their culture and way of life. In the late afternoon, we will look for the perfect spot either by the lake or river to view the sunset. Dinner at the lodge is followed by us heading out once more to see if we can spot alligators or any other nocturnal

Accommodation in cabañas (huts)

Day 3 – Leticia

We have breakfast at the lodge before we set out to head back to Leticia. On our way to Leticia we will try and spot pink and grey dolphins. We can then show you a few highlights in Leticia before bringing you to the airport or hotel.
